I missed the Q2 check-in and am (again) late and won’t be able to link up, but…
as I am sooooo happy to have figured out all the mellmeyer.de related stuff that was bugging me, let me catch you up.
Checking In
2024 Goals
Sewing goals for 2024
mellmeyer.de goals for 2024
The biggest update is that I am finally enjoying my sewing and website again. And that is so cool! The biggest hit was working on a just-for-fun project. It helped me get out of the slum.
And it helped cement the goal for mellmeyer.de. I will only do things for fun! I am technically a business but I am not doing this to earn a great income. For example the new mystery quilt along took hundreds of hours to prepare and I might earn a hundred dollars. And I am so grateful for that!
But just running this site eats that up and thus there is not even a minimum wage. So my income comes from my day job and I am working on not feeling pressured to do things here like a business. I do what I want to, what feels fun, and I hope that will then also translate to fun for you :)
This decision was years in the making and it feels freeing to have finally made the call.
Additional goals for 2024
Personal goals for 2024
With not having been that active, I did not pick any quarterly goals and I am not yet sure if this concept is for me.
I did organize the Advent Calendar Swap and everyone has their partners and is working behind the scenes to get their gift ready for December.
I also posted about the new Blog Advent Calendar. And yes, it will be a new mystery quilt along :)
So very excited about this. I am “only” almost prepped so I counted it as half-finished for now. But I am so close to being done with everything. I have never managed to have all the doors prepped in advance. Very proud of myself. I might need a new middle name ;)
Unfortuantely, I have lost control over my weight again. But I started with some strength training at a new gymn in June. And though it is currently going slower than in the beginning, I am still going and very determined to make this work.
So a lot of the work over the last months was mental or behind the scenes. Thus not a lot of blog posts lately. But I will catch-up my WIP list and fabric tracking next. And with the blog advent calendar coming in just six weeks – eek – btw also the time when I start a new job …
Yes, dropping another big behind the scenes bomb ;) It is with the same company but in a new department. Similar to my old tasks but with a new team and new topics. I am excited. But change is also challenging. So I am giving myself a lot of grace these days.
Best wishes,
xo Melanie
