Fabric Tracking Update

It felt like I let a lot of balls drop this year. Though I am sure, I also kept a few of them in the air ;)

But fabric tracking sure needs a big, months-long update. So here we go:

May – July

May to July is easy to document. I neither bought nor finished anything.

August

In August I ordered from Fat Quarter Shop. Mostly project-related plus a fabric card for Pure Solids (not pictured). Starry wideback for last year’s mystery project Star Toss. The red, navy, and turquoise Thatched fabrics for this year’s mystery project Merry Mix. And the Tula Pink stripe just for fun. I love it and want to use it as binding – someday ;)

September & October

I was long unsure how to count September & October.

In September I bought some fabric for a bag, which I still need to photograph and document. Yeah, so I have a hidden finish *insert eye-roll*

And in October I bought some fabrics for the coasters. I added way more stash fabrics to the project than originally intended. But how to figure out the fine details?

For simplicity’s sake, I will keep it at 0. *shrug They were for specific projects and roughly used up?!? Otherwise, I would have had to do more math and find the remnants. I am also not sure I have receipts… So even though my perfectionism is not perfectly (pun intended) happy with this, it will have to be the solution.

I was surprised that I was still in the negatives but…

December

I ordered a big envelope of fabrics from Hawthrone Threads in November. And they have arrived. 8.53 yards of fabric yumminess :)))

These are all just for fun fabrics. A multicolored wideback. I just loved the design… though it is wild. So I will have to see how I will use it ;)

The bears are canvas and I hope to make a new simple pool bag for my February/March vacation from it. We will see…

The raspberry-colored one is from the same collection. Just liked it. I intend to use the three stripes for binding. They are from the same collection as the wideback. I am a bit unhappy with the black and “white” one because it is a yellow-y cream. But I am sure one day the right project will come around ;)

With the official December stats to follow, I am currently at:

8.53 yd.

Year to Date:

+7.99 yd.

And though December is almost over, I am still hopeful about two projects. Maybe I can finish at least one? And if hoping for a “finish” for the statistic will push me to finish the WIPs, I will gladly take that :)

  1. I think you’ve done great! Lift happens. Fabric purchases happen. We need them to keep going, to keep inspired. I’m already starting a list of what I ‘need’ in January. ;-) I had high hopes for a December finish but I’ll be shocked if that happens. One day at a time, right?
