Name: Cut-Outs
Working Title: #improvbee Q4/2017
Due Date: 31st of December 2017
Completed: 10th of November 2017
Bee: #improvbee (Round I)
Queen Bee: Vicky @vevivicky
Theme: The General idea is to work with simple geometric shapes that look like cut Outs from a piece of paper.
One block consists of several shapes which are (loosely) ‘stacked’ on top of each other.
If you want more Inspiration, check out @eloiserenouf on Insta, she is a paper artist and some of her work plays with stacking cut outs, too.
Play with scale, shapes, fabric placement, negative space, curves, varying degrees when you sew your ‘Cut Outs’.
Play with composition, wonkyness, placement when stacking the shapes. They can form a secondary shape and don’t have to abide to the rules of gravity ;-)
Color Scheme: Solid White or Low Volume, Black, cool Greys, Mint, Tangerine
Technique and “form”: Use any form of piecing. I am also okay with appliqué, just no raw edges please!
