Four (!) finishes in Q2 2019 from my Finish Along List for Q2.
Finished
Wallet “Grete” No. 2
This was my first finish: A long overdue wallet for my colleague. You can read more about it in this post.
Gemstone Tumbler
And a very colorful baby quilt as the second finish. This project was almost on time :) All the details and many more pictures of this color goodness are in this post.
Plussquared
And here is a finish for myself. The second quilt I am keeping. Here is the link to the post.
And then I had two small in between finishes | And see what also happened :)
Hamburg Pouches
No individual blog post – but I mentioned them in my Monthly Check-In for May and they are on Instagram.
QuiltCon 2020
QuiltCon 2020 – Austin, TX here I come.1 My adrenaline was pumping as I registered for classes as quickly as my fingers would type on the keyboard!2 Here’s my happy dance for being able to register for all the classes I wanted this morning!3
Build out of three quotes: This would have been the perfect caption
Did I finish as much as I had hoped for. Definitely not but that was to be expected. I always overestimate what I can get accomplished, especially when I count in vacation time :)
But I am on a good track and very happy about it. See for yourself:
Projects
All my current WIPs
No. 1 – Ocean Waves
(since Q2/2016)
Binding
Started big stitch hand binding because all attempts to machine bind it failed. Totally unusual and very new for me but so far I like it!
No. 4 – “Good Wishes”
(since Q3/2017)
Planning
I started some block plannig but then got distracted again. But at least some small progress.
No. 8 – Bee Quilt 2019
(Q1/2019)
Layout
Started working on a layout. You can see the start here. Now considering on point :)

I am tempted to write my own pattern and host a Sew Along.
Will keep you up to date :)
My Goal for 2019 is to get my WIP list down to 3-6 projects.
I am still not managing two finishes a month but I am getting the number down! This quarter I finished four and added “only” two. So far from originally 15 down to 12. Yeahh!
No. (1) Ocean Waves, (3) Whirly Girl are relatively close to a finish. And (10) the wallet is soooo long overdue. Also I think (11) the bag will be a not too complicated project. So I am hoping for lots of finishes in Q3. With three in Q1 and four Q2 it should be five now, right?
Best wishes
xo Melanie

Beautiful projects, congratulations on your finishes!
There are so many lovely projects on your list (Wanta Fanta caught my eye so I’m hoping you might work on that one!) – good luck with them all!
I just have two words for you: Ocean. Waves. ; )
