Once again Cheryl @meadowmistdesigns and Yvonne @quiltingyetgirl are hosting their end of year reviews. This year I am dividing my Best of 2021 and the #2022PlanningParty.
Best Nine
This year I did not even manage to create an accurate collage with the top nine pictures or any information about the number of likes and so on. Was I looking in the wrong places? But I didn’t give up, I went through my feed and looked for pictures with many likes manually. And afterwards I looked for some other favorites and created the obligatory My Own Nine.
As usually there are quite a few duplicates in the “Best Nine”. In “My Own Nine” I included a few more of the in progress shots and two other finishes that I liked a lot and that had fun photo shoots.
Which means in total there are five finished quilts of 2021 selected. I will pick these for my Top Five of 2021!
Best of 2021
Top 1
Number One on the list is surely Modern Tiles. Besides being my second pattern and having so much fun during the release and the Sew Along, I just simply loved having it up in my living room for most of the year. Those colors!
Top 2
A close follow up is Charm Scrappy. This is one of my free patterns. It started out as a tutorial here on the blog and is now available for download in the shop. I am still so happy with the blocks. It was just fun to sew, very forgiving and I love the final look so much!
The photo shoot was also special as it was during some very cold winter days with lots of snow – for Hamburg ;)
Top 3
For some reasons you did not like the finished pictures of Quilty Stars very much, but I was so excited to finally find a nice mural here, too. I love all the quilt in front of an awesome wall or mural pictures on IG. Maybe the pictures were too cluttered? Not showing the quilt enough? I am nonetheless in love and before I changed to Christmas decor, this quilt was on the couch with me.
Top 4
Little Kingdom is special because I sewed it for the second child of a dear friend. Also I think the layout is very whimsical and somewhat magic and I am very pleased with the creative quilting. Secondly I had such a fun photo shoot at the Baltic Sea.
Top 5
Finishing up an old WIP is always awesome. Four Patch was repurposed from an UFO into this modern set of baby quilts with a fun sashing fabric that I traded with a friend and rainbow layout and binding. Who doesn’t like a good rainbow ;)

I would not manage this many projects without all your tips, support and encouragement. I really appreciate every like and comment! Thanks for all your quilty love!
