Mock-Ups
This is my first go at making Mock-Ups with Illustrator and fabric pattern swatches and I still haven’t figured out how to correctly size the fabric to my shape, but I did my best :)
And it was sooooo fun! I got to play with so many fabrics. Wohoo! I hope these will help you get a better idea of how the “rainbow” version can also be used. This was very inspiring for me and I hope you find them inspiring as well.
My currently favorite collection: First Light by Ruby Star Society for Moda. The first up is a scattered layout on a cream background – using all colors from the collection. And on the right is a gradient design with a black background. I often combine a solid background with prints, but you could also use one of the “calmer” black prints from the collection if that is more your cup of tea…
The next set is my a collection called Sincerely Yours. I saw it a few times on IG mock-ups for other quilts and wanted to try it out. I love this warm color gradient and especially the aqua background.
And of course I had to do an Alison Glass mock-up, right? I picked rainbow-y prints from the current Sun Print 2022 collection. You can see the mock-up directly in comparison to the solids design from the pattern.
And two other random, just for fun ones: A Mock-Up in Jolly Basics by Ruby Star Society for Moda. It is a collection that will soon arrive in stores. I found it when downloading First Light and though it was also a fun interpretation. And last one in Century Prints – Deco by Giucy Giuce for Andover. Both are less heavy on the pinks. Both have a more “masculine” vibe
I am very excited I was finally able to get this big upgrade online. If you already bought the All the Diagonals pattern you will shortly receive an email with your download link so you will not have to go hunt that one down. If you have not… well, you can find it in my shop ;)
Supporting Ukraine
For the next week 50% of all pattern sales will be donated to Unicef in support of Ukrainian refugees. I’ll let you know how much we managed to donate. Thank you in advance for your support!
Looking forward to hearing from you: Let me know which is your favorite mock-up or what you think of the upgrade or the pattern in general.
Best wishes
xo Melanie
Wow, each one is breathtaking! This would make such a good Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilt block!!!
Beautiful pattern, I love how it looks with all of the different fabric collections!
